Dr Khouri is a general paediatrician practicing at Liverpool in South Western Sydney. He is a consultant paediatrician at Liverpool Hospital.
He studied Medicine at the University of Sydney.
Following residency at RPA Hospital, he trained in General Paediatrics at the Sydney Children's Hospital in Randwick NSW, and its affiliated hospitals.
He is a fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians, and a conjoint lecturer for the University of New South Wales medical school.
He holds a Master in Public Health from the University of New South Wales.
Dr Khouri is a general paediatrician and can facilitate the management of paediatric medical conditions up to the age of 16 years.
He has a special interest in children with rare diseases who may need complex care.
Quality of care for children with complex medical problems needs a teamwork approach from all areas of healthcare, education and social services. This includes the collaborative care provided by parents and caregivers, family doctors, specialists, hospital doctors, nurses, allied health practitioners, teachers, psychologists, as well as government and non-government organisations and their supporting staff.
For children with behavioural, learning or severe developmental problems, such as ADHD and autism, they may be better managed by a developmental paediatrician.
Dr Khouri, like all paediatricians, advocates for an improved healthcare system to ensure that children with disabilities have their human rights respected and fulfilled for a quality, dignified and uncomplicated healthcare.
For appointments, please call 02 9822 8133 Mondays, Tuesdays or Wednesdays. A referral from your GP is required to get the Medicare rebate. This is a requirement of the Australian Healthcare System. Hospital follow-up patients may bring the hospital discharge summary.
Regrettably, Dr Khouri's clinic will close in July 2024. Due to the limited availability of appointments, we have to give priority to the Liverpool Hospital follow-ups. Dr Khouri will not be able to provide continued care but may be able to give a single consultation if required. We apologise for any inconvenience. Please continue to discuss the current medical issues with your family GP as they are the best to guide you. Thank you for your understanding.
Dr Khouri would like to thank the wonderful children and their families that were part of his Liverpool practice. But without the amazing staff of Liverpool Hospital, especially in general paediatrics, community paediatrics, ED, NICU, NETS, PACS, clinical genetics, maternity, neurology, cardiology, Rainbow Cottage, community C&F team, ICAMHS, children's ward school, neurophysiology, radiology, dermatology, allergy, rheumatology, ENT, gastroenterology, orthopaedics, surgery, anaesthetics, ICU, pain medicine, infectious diseases, oncology, haematology, endocrinology, respiratory, nuclear medicine, pathology, public health, private specialists, and many other SWSLHD healthcare services and charity organisations, as well as the Sydney Children's Hospital Network, including: doctors, nurses, speech therapists, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, psychologists, dietitians, social workers, podiatrists, orthoptists, dentists, teachers, educators, ambulance officers, administration staff, blood collectors, advocates, child protection services, medical and nursing students, housekeeping, volunteers, hospital cafes, safety and security staff... he was not able to offer the holistic care.
Together with his clinic administration staff, he wishes everyone a healthy and happy future. We aim for a cure, but healthcare is not just about the disease, it is about the general wellbeing of the child and family. We hope that healthcare for children and young people continue to improve in quality and safety so that to give them their human rights in health and social care so they can reach their best potential in life and to carry on the kindness and humanity to the next generations.
